SEAN EVELEGH

About us

Exceptional craftsmanship with attention to detail is the core of what we do

Our story

Sean and his brother, Daniel, have been making bespoke pieces of furniture from their workshop in the beautiful Kent countryside together since 2020. Each piece they make is a testament to their commitment to quality, combining traditional woodworking techniques with innovative design and technology. Utilising top quality tools and machines, the workshop is fully equipped to bring any idea to life.

We take pride in our personalised approach, working closely with clients to ensure their vision is realised. Our journey is one of creativity, precision, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, resulting in furniture that is not only functional but also a work of art.

Sean

Woodworking has been Sean’s passion since he was a child, having fallen in love with the art at school. Sean went onto study for a degree in Furniture Design and Making at the prestigious Rycotewood Furniture Centre, graduating with a distinction and then subsequently started his own woodworking studio.

During that time, he competed in and won a TV competition called ‘The Chop’ to be crowned Britain’s Top Woodworker. While at university, Sean started documenting his builds and has grown an impressive following online, with over 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. He has held woodworking masterclass all around the country and was the host of Axminster Tool’s podcast ‘Out of the Woodwork’ for two seasons.

Sean is a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and Art Workers’ Guild which are both celebrated institutions focused on highlighting the best of British art and craft. He is also a proud Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Sean’s work has been exhibited at numerous exhibitions within the UK and he has been commissioned to build furniture for private clients and esteemed furniture shops around the world.

Daniel

Daniel has always loved nature and is fascinated with the art form of green woodworking and furniture making. Turning a sustainable material, timber, into beautiful pieces of furniture that have the potential to change peoples lives.

Prior to joining his brother Sean in the summer of 2020 he graduated from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in Economics. Having spent countless hours with Sean in the workshop, he has an appreciation and fascination for the art and loves to help out in the workshop when he’s not looking after the business side.

Our values

Craftsmanship

We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and the highest level of craftsmanship. This involves meticulous attention to detail and the pursuit of excellence in every piece we make, resulting in furniture that will last for generations.

Our values

Design

We view furniture making as an art form and our designs are unique and innovative. We endeavour to create pieces of furniture that will not be found anywhere else!

Our values

Care

We want the process of commissioning or buying a piece of furniture from us to be an exciting, tailored, and transparent process. We are on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout, and post-delivery and endeavour to give you a personalised service.

Our values

Preserving the craft

We care deeply about the craft of woodworking, which is steeped in tradition. We honour the heritage of woodworking and value passing our knowledge on through educational talks and demonstrations preserving the art of woodworking for future generations.

Stunning woods

We believe in creating beautiful pieces of furniture that transform living spaces. To do that, we use beautiful woods from around the world that have stunning figure and characteristics, like burrs and ripples, that catch the eye and leave you with a sense of amazement and bewilderment.

Exotic woods can have vibrant, striking coloration offering rich purples, red, deep browns, with highly distinctive grain patterns. These natural patterns add visual interest and become focal points in the design. Working with the varied properties of exotic woods encourages us to push our artistic boundaries and make pieces of furniture that are unique, expressive, and hopefully treasured.

We ensure the exotic woods used are certified and sourced properly in a sustainable manner, that way we can enjoy the beauty of them while protecting their local ecosystems.

Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of what we do. We love the beauty of the natural world and endeavour to highlight the unique characteristics of the wood we use in all our pieces. Sean is a proud ambassador of Latham Timber, the UK’s largest timber supplier who source their wood from the finest sawmills in the world, all fully certified. So, when buying a piece of furniture from us you can be assured the timber is sustainably sourced.
