Sean

Woodworking has been Sean’s passion since he was 11, having fallen in love with the art at school. Sean went on to study for a degree in Furniture Design and Making at Rycotewood Furniture Centre, graduating with a distinction and then subsequently started his own woodworking studio. During that time, he competed in and won a TV competition called ‘The Chop’ to be crowned Britain’s Top Woodworker, has partnered with leading industry titans like James Latham Timber and Axminster Tools to be their ambassador and has been commissioned to build furniture for private clients and esteemed furniture shops around the UK. For Axminster Tools, Sean has toured the country giving woodworking masterclasses at woodwork shows. Sean also hosts the 'Out Of The Woodwork' Podcast, interviewing other professionals in the industry.

Sean describes himself as a maker of functional pieces of art, combining the natural beauty of wood with intricate woodworking techniques like inlay and bending to create stunning pieces of furniture. The inspiration behind Sean's work came from being introduced to antique furniture at a young age by his Grandmother who was an antique dealer. Being surrounded by such beautiful furniture ingrained an appreciation, respect, and understanding of high quality craftsmanship. Taking that appreciation forward into his work, Sean keeps top quality making at the heart of what he does, ensuring that the contemporary pieces he makes  are made to the highest standards and will last for generations, like the antiques in his Grandmother's shop.

Daniel

Daniel joined his brother Sean in the summer of 2020 to look after the commercial side of the business. Prior to joining, he graduated from the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in Economics. Having spent countless hours with Sean in his workshop, he has an appreciation and fascination for the art and like Sean strives for perfection in the pieces that leave the workshop.

Daniel’s strengths are running and growing the business, however, he does love helping out with the woodworking where he can. He helped build a large timber store with Sean, where they now keep all their wood, and helped with other large projects, such as swing seats and dining room tables. Daniel enjoys all sports, and in particular, his daily post-work game of tennis!
